Suction Bottle

A finite element stress analysis of a suction bottle was performed using a 3D model.

Applied displacements at the nozzle flange faces simulated the static installation and dynamic operating deflections. Combined with internal pressure, alternating stress intensities were simulated. The results were used to to predict the fatigue life and compare to actual operating experience.
